The Autism Society of Berks County would like to thank the Reading Phillies for allowing us to hold our 9th annual “Help Solve the Puzzle: Walk for Autism Awareness” at their FirstEnergy Stadium on September 11th! Due to flooding, we only had two days to find an alternate location to hold our event. Without the generosity and support of the R-Phils, our Walk would have been canceled.

Thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, and approximately 2,500 participants who joined us at the stadium and supported us! Together, we raised autism awareness and over $40,000!

Autism Awareness Month

During April 2009, the Autism Society of Berks County was proud to have seven billboards (with the artwork below) posted around Berks County in honor of Autism Awareness Month. We also placed an ad in two Sunday editions of the  Reading Eagle. The newspaper ad contained many facts about Autism. We hope to generate a greater awareness and understanding of autism so that individuals can be diagnosed early, receive appropriate treatment, and be met with patience and understanding in our community.
