Upcoming Newsletter The Fall issue of The Puzzle will be in your mailboxes this month. Please submit any of your Member Pages information to newsletter@autismsocietyofberks.org. We’d love submissions of Celebrations!, Talent Corner (poetry and art), GFCF recipes, and Professional of the Month. Also don’t forget that we’d love to hear those cute Autism stories too! First submission gets the chance to have their child’s picture included in the Celebrations section. All entries will be entered into a drawing for free registration for the 2007 Conference on Autism.
Upcoming Chapter Meetings The next Chapter Meeting will be held Monday, November 13, 2006 at 7 PM at the Reading Jewish Community Center. This month’s presenter will be Eric Zimmerman from Best Buddies Maryland and Leslie Gordon from Best Buddies Pennsylvania. Also in attendance will be Diane Anderson, the faculty advisor to Wilson High School’s Best Buddies Club, and the president of the Wilson Best Buddies to answer questions about their program. There is no Chapter Meeting in December. Chapter Meetings will resume in January with discussion of the book "Through the Eyes of Aliens" by Jasmine O'Neil.

Mozart & the Whale Screening The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Autism Society of America proudly presents an exclusive screening of Mozart & the Whale on Sunday, November 19th, 2006 at the United Artist Theater in King of Prussia. Great News from Harrisburg! Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare Withdraws Waiver Requesting Premium Secretary Estelle Richman has announce that DPW is withdrawing the waiver requesting a premium for children with special needs known as loophole. DPW will continue to press for parity within the insurance world but will not be charging families a premium to provide Medicaid benefits for this population of children with special needs.
